If you are within an hour driving distance, Long Beach is well worth the trip! From undulating tree lined fairways to classic links style tracks, golf in Long Beach will surely satisfy your golf cravings! Below are a few local favorites.
1. Recreation Park – Formerly Virginia Country Club (now located in North Long Beach), Recreation Park features an 18-hole classic design and a 9-hole executive style course. Known by locals as Big Rec and Little Rec, both courses provide fun layouts with tricky greens that require the attention of even the most skilled golfers.
2. Eldorado Park – This is Long Beach’s municipal gem. Eldorado Park features a classic layout with giant trees, dog legs and small bunkered greens. Eldorado requires all the shots with well shaped holes best played with fades and draws. Eldorado hosts the famous Long Beach Open which has attracted many future tour stars including Paul Goydos and Paul Stankowski.
3. Skylinks Golf Course – Redesigned and opened in 2004, Skylinks is a unique addition to Los Angeles County, offering a Scottish Style Links layout. With few trees, pot bunkers and whipping winds, Skylinks will require your undivided attention.
